Boot, Scoot, and Boogie – Country for a Cause 2014
March 22, 2014
Saturday, March 22, 2014 marked the 19th Annual Mychael David and Susan Jayne performance with “The Help Wanted Band” at Point Breeze Restaurant in Webster benefiting the Center of Hope Foundation. Over 200 people stomped their boots to the beat of fantastic music, including Mychael David’s first single “Nothin” which spent an amazing 34 weeks on the Indie World Charts before topping at #1. The Lyrics to the song “Nothin” talks of an older man living in the moment “with nothin but a smile on his face.” Similarly, the Center of Hope Foundation provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to live more independently, participate within their communities and enjoy life to the fullest through day habilitation, vocational services and recreational activities such as Special Olympics. Long standing relationships between supporters such as Mychael David, Susan Jayne, The Help Wanted Band, and the Center of Hope brings smiles to everyone’s face, along with a greater appreciation of community to those who attend this energy packed event. We are proud to wear our band t-shirts and tip our hats, thanking everyone who provides the Center of Hope family an incredible night of music, dancing and “fun”-raising. Also the Center would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Point Breeze for once again offering a buffet of delicious foods and a beautiful venue for the Center of Hope’s favorite band to entertain.
Along with the thoughtful gesture of Diana Provencher who donated back the winnings from the 50/50 raffle, the Center of Hope Foundation raised $2,443.50. This amount will allow our participants, who join our unified Special Olympics teams, an opportunity to play in upcoming Special Olympics events at no charge.
Thank you once again to Mychael David and Susan Jayne, The Help Wanted Band, Point Breeze Restaurant, family, friends and supporters of the Center of Hope Foundation who contributed to making this year’s “Country for a Cause” event such a success.
